Savage Interactive has recently updated Procreate, its popular iOS application for sketches and drawings, introducing support to ProMotion, the technology in the new iPad Pro.
Procreate’s strengths include the ability to use the iPad GPU to perform the major operations without any lag. Silica, the design engine used by the application, uses the OpenGL ES 2.0 libraries and benefits especially from the integrated graphics accelerator on the Apple tablet.
As anticipated just above, Procreate is now able to take advantage of doubling display refresh rate, now reaching 120 Hz.
This translates to a greater fluidity and overall reactivity in the images, so much so in the use of a graphical application.
We find some minor fixes and enhancements, for example in Stylus Wacom support such as Bamboo Sketch and Bamboo Fineline.
Procreate is available from the App Store at £ 6.99. Requires iOS 10.0 or later. Compatible with iPad.
