We have already seen the different options offered by the new Edge. Based on Chromium, Edge can be tested on the Canary channel (with updates almost daily) and on the Dev channel (something more stable and with more paused updates ). A version that is giving problems.
The compilation launched in the channel Dev for Edge takes the number 220.127.116.11 and next to the number of improvements that it offers, it has added an important failure that has forced to Microsoft to retire it off the market until correcting the errors that it presents.
Back to the previous version
And is that through Twitter they warn that they are investigating a problem with the latest update within the Dev channel that seems to prevent some users from starting the browser after the update.
We are currently investigating an issue with our latest Dev branch update that appears to stop some users from launching the browser after updating. We will provide an update as soon as we know more, or once a solution is found. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The company is already aware of the situation and works on a remedy. While they propose a solution to users who have been affected. In this sense, they propose two solutions :
- On the one hand, uninstall Microsoft Edge Dev from the system applications by going to the section “Settings> Applications> Applications and functions” and then reinstall it from this link. In this way, the current and stable version is returned, the one with the number 18.104.22.168.
- The other is to wait 24 hours and restart Microsoft Edge on the Dev channel. The time required for Microsoft to launch a new update within the Dev channel with the bugs fixed, an update that will be installed automatically on the computers. As an alternative, we can use another browser or even Edge in the Canary version, because we can have both installed.
We must remember that among the new features, this update allowed to activate the dark theme, which we already saw as it could be activated using the command “Edge: // flags”.
