Looks like there may be a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge after all

Previous rumours suggested Samsung would be dropping the Galaxy S7 Edge in favour of a larger Galaxy S7 Edge Plus handset, but the latest leak suggests both may come out when it launches.

The latest AnTuTu benchmarking has leaked and suggests the Galaxy S7 Edge will come with a 2K 5.1-inch screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, Android 6.0 Marshmallow software and 4GB of RAM.

Then there’s also a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing shooter as well as 64GB of storage.

Spoiled for choice

All those specs look similar to previous leaks, but the introduction of a smaller screen suggests the Galaxy S7 Edge will come in two different sizes including the Galaxy S7 Edge Plus.

The only issue is the AnTuTu benchmarking listing doesn’t confirm it is the Galaxy S7 Edge variant. There’s no word on a curved display technology, but the name of the device does appear in the listing as the SM-G935A.

We’ve previously seen that name apply to a variant of the Galaxy S7 tied to the AT&T network.

If Samsung decides to release the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 Edge Plus in February customers are going to have a big choice to make. But if it does happen, it’s exciting to see Samsung step up and make the Edge screen technology a main focus of the Galaxy S smartphone brand.
