Huawei has initiated the update of the Huawei P10 with Android 8.0 Oreo and the respective renewed and adapted custom graphics layer, EMUI 8.0. An OTA update that has initially been released in China, for compatible models, but will soon be equally available to European versions.
The official presentation of the Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro served as a backdrop for more details about updates. We refer to the software improvement of the Honor, just like the Huawei Mate 9 and Huawei P10.
The signature showed that the update of the Huawei P10 with Android 8.0 oreo would be imminent. A track that later was complemented with the launch of a Beta version.
Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus with Android 8.0 Oreo
After just over a month since the Beta version was launched, today was the day chosen by the company to start the official launch of the OTA update with Android 8.0 Oreo for the Huawei P10, as well as for the Huawei P10 Plus.
The software improvement is accompanied by the EMUI 8.0 version, a revision of the custom graphics interface that adapts to the latest technologies implemented by the company in its most sophisticated models, the Huawei Mate 10.
The only drawback for Europeans is that the release of Android 8.0 for the Huawei P10 is that, for now, the update has been made available to Chinese users, specifically for Huawei P10 and P10 Plus models under the VTR references -AL00, VTR-TL00, VKY-AL00, and VKY-TL00.
The OTA for the European versions VTR-L09 and VTR-L29 will not be long in reaching the Old Continent and it is speculated that the stable version of Android 8.0 will be available in the coming weeks.
Improvements based on artificial intelligence
And what’s new in the Huawei P10 with Android 8.0 Oreo and EMUI 8.0? In addition to the own improvements propelled by Google, Huawei has provided the firmware B321 adapted for its models of characteristics of artificial intelligence.
Although the Huawei Mate 9 already released logarithms that optimized the system according to the user’s requirements, in this version, it has gone a step further thanks to the advances promoted by the Huawei Mate 10 and it’s Kirin 970 processor with integrated NPU chip.
In this sense, the user will have at his disposal new and more effective options of control by voice, as well as a greater performance and fluidity of the interface.
Among the initial details announced by the firm is the split-screen tool, which finally reaches the Huawei P10.
Similarly, we are waiting to know more information that will allow us to know if other models of the family such as the Huawei P10 Lite, will receive the respective update with Android 8.0.
