Newspapers see relationship between Didi Chuxing investment and Apple-car project

Why invest Apple has a billion dollars a Chinese over competitors? Apparently could definitely a connection with the alleged electric car project of the company are made.
The Wall Street Journal says that the Chinese Uber competitor Didi Chuxing a had a hand “important ally in a key market.” but added also come that Apple could collect important data for the development of self-driving cars on the company.
