As planned, Activision has presented Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a new installment of the well-known war action franchise that represents a very curious movement, since it will return to its origins, but in a partial way and with a « soft restart ».
We can divide the history of the franchise into three major periods ; the original, which would include the first three installments, the intermediate one; where all subsequent deliveries would be grouped up to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare; and the one of new generation, that would begin to count from that one and it would arrive until Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII.
With Call of Duty WWII tried to carry out a return to the origins of the franchise, but the result was not as expected, and now, after that failed attempt, we see a new adventure with which Infinity Ward will seek to give an impulse to the saga and repeat the huge success that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare had.
That is the delivery that is inspired by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a game that will hit the market on October 25 and that will once again offer the classic campaign mode. As we can see in the video the graphics quality will be at the level of the previous deliveries. Keep in mind that although a clear reference is made to the fact that the images are “in the game” (obtained from the game), they are cinematically combined with some real game scenes.
As we have said on previous occasions we can not expect a jump to the graphics level in this new release, since the development is focused on PS4 and Xbox One, which means that these are the ones that mark the ceiling at a general level. Yes, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X have more power, but they will limit themselves to raising the resolution and, in the best of cases, the anisotropic filtering.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will hit PS4, Xbox One and PC. No, there will be no version for Nintendo Switch.
