Apple Watch has been responsible for giving the alarm in many cases. The most recent is that of a 28-year-old New York reporter who ended up going to the hospital because his Apple Watch detected an abnormal heartbeat. He went to the doctor and was diagnosed with pulmonary thromboembolism.
James Green suffered in the past a similar episode, which made him be alert in case it was repeated in the future. Green also suffers from anxiety attacks, whose symptoms can be confused with those of a thrombus.
However, the alert he received in his Apple Watch Series thanks to the HeartWatch app, knew that something was wrong and went to the hospital. There they detected pulmonary thromboembolism and treated him immediately saving his life.

This is not the first time Apple Watch has helped save a life. Or, at least, to detect a disease in its beginnings and to favor its treatment before it was too late. A very striking case is that of a teenage sportsman who noticed something was not right, checked his Apple Watch and threw a heartbeat 145 two hours after having practiced sport:
I was so dehydrated that my muscles began to get rid of and put a protein in my bloodstream that is toxic, which caused my heart, liver, and kidneys to begin to fade.
The boy was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, a type of muscle necrosis that is fatal if left untreated

In all these cases, the Apple Watch played a decisive role thanks to its cardiac sensor. One that is quite accurate, according to some studies. With the addition of new sensors, such as non-invasively blood glucose, the proposal of Apple Watch is going to be increasingly blunt.
The Apple watch already helps us to do more sport, to be more active and to close those rings. You can swim with it, take it to run or go hiking without the iPhone thanks to its GPS and, with the LTE version, to forget about your iPhone for certain things.
If you’re worried about your health, it’s going to be harder to say No to Apple Watch
The Cupertino company is not content to sell the watch in its Apple Store, online store or authorized resellers. It also wants insurers to distribute Apple Watch to customers to better monitor their health and prevent illness (which is in the hands of their customers and their business).
There is no doubt that, with the passing of the generations and versions of watchOS, Apple will incorporate new sensors, new qualities and new functionalities that will control and prevent more diseases. For some users with a history, detected risks or diagnosed diseases, having an Apple Watch is not an option. It is obligatory.
With the passage of time, it will be more difficult not to ask the question presented by the Apple Watch: is it worth investing 269 euros in a device that can save your life on the day least thought?
